Apex Trader Funding
PropScore rates and ranks every futures prop firm using a precise five-point scoring system. Instantly compare payout splits, drawdown rules, and fees to find the firm that fits your style.
Trading Without Stop Losses or Risk Management: All trades must have either pending or mental stop losses and a well-defined risk management strategy. Trading without these measures is strictly prohibited.
High-Risk Strategies: Strategies that involve small profit targets while risking disproportionately large amounts are not allowed. For example, setting a five-tick profit target with a 150-tick stop loss demonstrates unacceptable risk management.
Using the Trailing Threshold as a Stop Loss
Stockpiling Evaluation Accounts: Purchasing multiple discounted evaluation accounts to cycle through and intentionally “blow up” accounts in pursuit of windfall profits is not permitted.
Unsustainable Strategies: Any trading, risk management, or implementation that fails to demonstrate consistent growth and sustainability is prohibited. This includes schemes or behaviors that do not align with responsible trading practices.
Deviating from Professional Standards: Traders must employ strategies and risk management techniques consistent with those they would use in a personally funded account at a registered broker. Apex does not fund traders who deviate from this standard.
Holding open trade positions through the market close.
No Automation or Algorithm Usage allowed.
NEWS TRADING: Trading during news is allowed for your normal trading strategy. Using “news trading” strategies that “chase the market” or place orders on both sides but to be lucky or gamble the outcome of news is not allowed.
No Hedging of Any Kind.
There is a 50% consistency rule on the EOD PA accounts (funded stage). All other evals and the Intraday PA do not have consistency rules.
There is a Daily Loss Limit on all accounts except for the Intraday Trail evaluation accounts.
Up to weekly payouts with 100% payout split
Minimum 5 trading days that meet the required minimum daily profit

Traders commonly say the evaluations are cheap, especially on discounts, but many find activation costs and drawdown or consistency rules restrictive. Payout feedback is mixed: some reviewers report successful payouts, while several mention difficult payout rules and multiple rev…
Highly recommend not using Apex. I've used them multiple times and have not had a good experience. I also know quite a few traders who have been denied payouts from them. I'd stay away unless they change.
Pricing is good
The dashboard isn't the best and the trading conditions/rules are pretty bad. I also don't like the activation fees.
Pure garbage. No more "Payout PTSD" since I got booted from apex for being profitable. Sorry, not "booted", ummm "under review for live". <Insert skeleton in chair meme>
Of course payout denials, but that's expected. It gets worse.
Ramped up to $15k+ on my account. After getting $5k from payout requests, they suddenly blocked me from trading and sent me a notification that I was being moved to a live account. It was already bad enough that they make you wait almost two weeks to make a payment request, and they take forever to process those payments. My buffer is gone, and they left me with only a small portion of my $15k balance. Not only that. Over a week has passed, and I still don't have access to the live account they said they were moving me to. This is disgusting, and should be illegal. These guys are dirty, and I learned the hard way that they have a negative reputation for a reason. At this point, I'm just going to move forward and take my business elsewhere. I highly recommended using a different prop firm.
Discounted accounts. No activation fees. Decent communication from customer service agents.
Shady practices. No transparency or clarity. Sudden changes without warning, such as the inability to trade metals.
Super cheap accounts, which is nice for those trading futures on a budget. They did not allow trading on certain instruments such as GC for WEEKS around April 2026. This disrupted my trading for too long. Otherwise, I have had a smooth process with them. I do not hear the best things from more experienced traders about them though.
Customer service was good. Accounts were super cheap.
Limiting my trading, during normal trading hours and non news. I had to sit out of volatile markets for weeks and missed many high RR trades on GC.
I dont know why anybody including myself still trade with Apex. If you include the activation fees they are not cheap... Evals are dirt cheap though. I guess its a good practice arena for newbies. They do pay now if you follow the rules, but the rules are challenging, and I hate DLL. There are much better options out there....much better.
cheap evals
DLL and high activation fees.
Cheap entry account when on sale, but the bad customer care, lag spikes during trading in the data feed (which has improved), somewhat more difficult payout rules, and lastly the company policy and actions turn it into quite a wild card
Prices during sales
The inability to have trust in the firm and their actions
King of the hill right now. Especially with their new EOD drawdown accounts. Reliable payouts (if you follow the rules).
Have never been denied a payout. Can trade up to 20 accounts.
I had a PA account flagged, but it was never clear to me what the violation was.
The UI is very ugly. Customer service ticket center has improved a bit. Customer service is basically useless though, I've submitted over 4 tickets and they were always borderline useless. They shadow banned me after I got a few payouts, and when I opened a ticket to ask why they just immediately closed it. If you ever get to 2 or 3 payouts, expect a ban if you don't make it to a Live account. Unfortunately they purposefully obfuscate what the Live criteria actually are. They also raised prices, they used to be the cheapest option with crappy rules but now they aren't even cheap. The only time I would recommend Apex is for people brand new to props to practice their strategy on cheap evals, but if you actually progress to getting 1-3 payouts in a row it's time to move past this company.
Cheapest evals possible. That's the only perk they have is $20 for the evals, but activation fees make them more expensive than most when that's factored in.
They banned me after I collected payouts. Support blatantly ignores my tickets when asked if I will ever be able to purchase more accounts. Prices are no longer competitive either.
I like that the evals are often discounted to 90%, so for new traders learning to pass evals, it's great to start with APEX. Sure there are activation fees after passing the evals, but if you're new and you fail a lot of evals, spending just $20 instead of $100 is a great offer when you learn. Definitely stick with 1 or 2 micros with the small drawdown.
Very affordable evals
Tradovate with APEX doesn't have the manual lockout functionality, but you can still set limit loss and daily profit limits.
The EOD update is helpful to most traders, but the one time fee for evaluations with a 30 day time limit remains a big negative. Market conditions change and if the market chops for an extended time, an account under this rule will likely fail (no fault to the trader or a well executed trading plan) Very problematic.
